My original illustration of a plague doctor is now available in a set of four size A2 (4.25x5.5") greeting cards.
To help ward off airborne pathogens, plague doctors would wear what was essentially a proto bio-hazard suit that consisted of a wide-brimmed hat, a long overcoat made of a thick fabric material that was waxed, thick gloves, boots and a bird-like mask that served as a respirator. Aromatic herbs were kept in the beak cavity to help ward off the stench of death and decay. A cane would be carried around as an instrument to examine patients to avoid directly touching them as well as keeping other people at bay.
Printed on 13.5mil thick white fine art paper (matte finish, 100% cotton rag content) with archival inks in my little studio in State College, Pennsylvania. Image will last a lifetime (unless you're an immortal...in that case, we can't help ya there). Blank inside. Comes with its own ivory eco-friendly envelope. Card can also be mounted and framed as mini artwork.
